Join the Public Artist in Residence on Artists’ Row (PAiR) for the 2024 season. Julia Csekö will present the participatory public art installation Transcending Borders - Immigrant Experiences and Dreams between June and September. The Artist Row studio will be a community gathering point for sharing and celebrating immigration stories. Additionally, Csekö will curate storytelling events and family-friendly workshops throughout the year. 

The residency will culminate with an exhibition at Salem Old Town Hall in January 2025.

Meet the Salem Pair Ambassadors

Elijah Fernandes graduated in May of 2024 from Montserrat College of Art. During his time as a student, he was part of the RAW Art Works’ public mural team Good2Go. He is passionate about art making, event planning, and building new connections within the artistic network of the North Shore.

Dinton Law is a Gender Non-conforming, queer Illustrator from Arizona pursuing a BFA in Illustration with a minor in Entrepreneurship at Montserrat College of Art. They have illustrated for a published children’s book released in January of 2023 and won an award for first prize-picture book in the Arizona Authors Association 2023 Literary Contest.

Shelly “Lola” Freund is an MFA candidate at SMFa @ Tufts SMFA. Her work is part of Elon University’s Permanent Student Art Collection, and she has been published in the Colonnades Literary and Art Journal. “Lola” combines Middle Eastern and Central American backgrounds, and her work addresses identity, and bilingual and diasporic experiences. She is passionate about accessibility and public-facing art for all.
